CyberSafeIreland were delighted to visit Bunscoil Sancta Maria on Synge Street on Thursday, 5th October 2017 for interactive sessions with 3rd to 6th class children on how to stay safe online. Our CEO Alex Cooney was joined by Hugh Callaghan, Director of Cyber at EY, who are sponsoring visits to a number of schools.

Alex Cooney said: “We focus on children under the age of 13, when they are first starting to use the technology more independently.  It is critically important to equip them with the skills and knowledge to navigate the online world safely and responsibly and for parents to engage in their online lives.  We are so pleased that EY are coming on board and supporting these important issues.  It is a real opportunity to reach a wider audience with important messages about staying safe online.”

Hugh Callaghan added that “Technology is now an integral part of daily life, and it offers unprecedented opportunities for kids to learn and play. We’re acutely aware of the new risks this presents, and we’re proud to help CyberSafeIreland equip both children and parents with the knowledge and confidence they need to make the best possible use of the digital world.”
